Myanmar Cardinal urges MSP sisters to be the bearers of good news

Myanmar Cardinal urged the Missionary Congregation of the Sisters of St. Paul (MSP) to be the bearers of good news amid the bad news everywhere at the retreat of the MSP community superior sisters.
“Wherever you are, whenever it may be, you have to be the missionaries like St. Paul, preaching the Good News. Especially, in this time of bad news everywhere, you must be bearers of the good news,” Charles Cardinal Bo urged the MSP community superiors.
Retreat of the MSP community superior sisters took place at the Mother House of St. Paul Sisters in Thanlyin on February 24-March 2, 2025.
28 Community Superiors of St. Paul Sisters took part in the retreat.

The retreat preacher was His Eminence Charles Cardinal Bo, the founder of the Missionary Congregation of the Sisters of St. Paul and also Priests and Brothers.
Cardinal Bo encouraged the MSP sisters to be the model and strong supporter of their congregation and not to rely on the founder in everything.
The founder insisted, “MSP Sisters must be able to go wherever you are assigned, such as the place of those who do not know Jesus, those who do not know sufficiently about Jesus, not only to Catholics but also other religions, those who do not know Jesus.”
The cardinal stressed the importance of cultivating relationships with the bishop, local clergy, and other congregations, and fostering cooperation among the faithful.
He alerted the sisters to the advantageous and disadvantageous aspects of media.
Cardinal Bo added, “To share the good news, we need the media training. Everybody has a mobile phone by which we have the chance to share the good news, whether for us or for others.”
The retreat aims to reflect the MSP sisters’ way of life, whether they are living according to their constitution.
General superior Sr. Rufina Nan Fi told to RVA Kachin Jinghpaw, “This year’s retreat is that the congregation reflects her life as Jubilee because this year is the Jubilee Year. We thank God for what we have to give thanks. We especially give thanks to God for being able to evaluate the constitution, which is the congregation’s rule of life. We could see what we could not do, and we are strengthened and enlightened to go forward enthusiastically as a MSP sister.”

After the Thanksgiving Mass of Retreat, they entered the Jubilee Door at St. Mary’s Cathedral so that they may receive the Jubilee blessings.
The Missionary Congregation of the Sisters of St. Paul was founded in Lashio on May 25, 1990, and now there are 123 St. Paul sisters.
The motto of the congregation is “I thirst.”
26 communities are serving in 7 dioceses in Myanmar, Yangon Archdiocese, Pha-An Diocese, Pyay Diocese, Pathein Diocese, Mandalay Archdiocese, Lashio Diocese, and Myitkyina Diocese.
