Graduation ceremony of Batch 47 of St. Martin’s National Catechists Training School

St. Martin’s Catechists Training School’s graduation ceremony occurred on the evening of March 14, at St. Martin’s Hall in Myaungmya town, Myanmar.

41 trainees completed the catechetical training in batch 47.

On the morning of March 15, at 6:30 AM, Bishop Henry Eikhlein of Pathein Diocese presided over the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Sacred Heart Church in Myaungmya.

In his homily, Bishop Henry quoted (Rm 10:14-15) “… And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?”

“This slogan has been the motto, belief, and proclamation that the training school has carried since its foundation,” the prelate remarked.

He recalled the words in the classroom when he was a Grades 9 and 10 student, “How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?”

Bishop Henry insisted that this task of preaching is the Church’s mission.

“If we don’t do this work, who will? Being a catechist is also a vocation, it is also a gift” said Bishop of Pathein Diocese.
