He said that knowing and recognition of the sacrament in our lives are not the same, but different. The day on which we are confirmed is a remarkable day for each individual, and it should not be forgotten.
He encouraged all those who were confirmed to bear witness to their faith boldly, like the Apostles who witnessed and preached the message of the Lord after receiving the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Yangon Zone, which comprises all the Parishes in the City and the vicinity, 817 from 27 Parishes were confirmed on May 31, 2025, the feast of the visitation of Our Lady to Elizabeth in St. Mary’s Cathedral at 8:00 am.

Andrea Ferrante, Charge’ d’ Affaires and Msgr. Saw Francis, the Rector of St Mary’s Cathedral, administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to the young people.
Bishop Noel Saw Naw Aye delivered the Homily in the Confirmation Ceremony at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
“Confirmation also serves to renew the baptismal vow. All the promises and vows of God in the Old Testament are fulfilled in Jesus Christ in the New Testament. God is true to His Promises and we are to be true to our baptismal vow and to our vow in Confirmation,” said Bishop Noel Saw Naw Aye.
Msgr. Andrea Ferrante, Chargé d’ Affaires, delivered a speech at the end of the Eucharistic Celebration.
First, he requested to pray for Pope Leo XIV and His Ministry. It was a great joy for him that the journey of faith of the young people has received the seal of Chrism in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
He encouraged the faithful to pray for so many young people and families who live in difficult situations for various reasons; so many suffer in body and spirit, but he believes that the worst evil is lack of hope,” said Msgr. Andrea.
“The Gifts of the Spirit enable you to be formed as Christians, to live out the Gospel, and to be active members of the community. Now you are His disciples and sent to proclaim the joy of the Gospel, this is the power capable of changing man’s heart. If our hearts change, then the world also changes,” said Msgr. Andrea.
Msgr. Andrea expressed his wish that each young person remain steadfast in the journey of faith, with a firm hope in the Lord.
He asked them to remember that they are not alone in this journey since they are the living members of the Church. Msgr. Andrea continued that there are no difficulties and trials to fear as long as we remain united to God in the Church, like branches to the vine, as long as they make more room for Him in our lives.
