Myanmar Bishop: “a sense of renewal and fresh beginningsfor everyone”

Bishop Henry Eikklein of Pathein Diocese encouraged the seminarians of the Minor Seminary of Pathein Diocese, Myanmar, on June 7, 2025.
“Those in the formation centers start their classes. This highlights a sense of renewal and fresh beginnings for everyone,” emphasized the bishop at the opening Mass of the academic year of the Diocesan Minor Seminary, in Mayanchaung village, Pathein.

In his homily, Bishop Henry Eikhlein said that tomorrow is the feast of Pentecost; God sent down the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles to become braver and more enthusiastic to spread the Good News to the world.
“The year 2025 is a Jubilee Year of blessings. So, what we should pray for is to ask our Heavenly Father to shower down His blessings throughout the Jubilee year. By the power of the Holy Spirit, make us active and alive, and never get discouraged throughout the year,” the bishop insisted.
There are three formation centers in Mayanchaung village in Pathein: St. Francis Xavier Brother Novitiate, St. Francis Xavier Sister Novitiate, and Minor Seminary.
There are forty-two students in the Minor Seminary this academic year.
