Myanmar Cardinal: graduate students to enhance their knowledge

Charles Cardinal Bo urged the graduate students to enhance their knowledge at the graduation ceremony of the Socio-Pastoral Diploma program.

“What is the biggest room in the world? Room for improvement. No matter where we are, any of us for further improvement,” Chair Bishop of St. Joseph’s National Catholic Major Seminary, Cardinal Bo, urged the graduate students.

The 2nd graduation ceremony was held at 10 AM on August 24, 2024, on the campus of St. Joseph’s National Catholic Major Seminary, Yangon, Myanmar.

Myanmar Cardinal reminded, “Don’t challenge God but accept God. God knows everything. Try to be in communion with Jesus, who is the answer of all.”

Rector Rev. Fr. Cyprian Aung Win of the St. Joseph’s National Catholic Major Seminary extended congratulations to the graduate students, “Today, we gather for a day of grand celebration. As we see, the second graduation ceremony. This is the day of recognition, the moment to honor the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our graduates. Congratulations!”

The motto of the diploma program is “Serve with love and gladness.”

The director Rev. Fr. John Hlawn Moe Naing of the socio-pastoral diploma program, urged the graduate students, “The graduate students are the light of the world, as Jesus said. (Mt 5:14) The socio-pastoral knowledge that you have learned should not be kept for yourself. It is to share for others, to be the light for others, to guide others, and to be the hope for others in the time of difficulties.”

St. Joseph’s National Catholic Major Seminary, National Karuna Mission Social Solidarity, and CBCM Socio-Pastoral Coordinating Unit organized the Socio-Pastoral Diploma program.

In the second batch of the socio-pastoral Diploma program, 2023-2024, 21 students graduated successfully.

On July 8, 2023, the first batch had their graduation ceremony with 24 graduate students.
