Myitkyina Parish Children Rally for Global Peace in Rosary Prayer Ceremony

Over 400 young missionaries of the Myitkyina Parish gathered at St. Columban’s Cathedral on October 11, 2025, to recite the Rosary for world peace and participate in Jubilee Year teachings.

The event, organized by the parish’s Missionary Children’s Committee, integrated the local community into the global “One Million Children Prayer Service.” The dual aims were to deepen the children’s faith through the recitation of the Rosary and to educate them on the significance of the ongoing Holy Jubilee Year, allowing them to receive its spiritual blessings.

“I am very happy to be able to participate in this event,” said Ms. Magdalena Zinwa Nang Tsawm Pan. “Today, we prayed together, sang songs together, ate food together with many friends, and I felt that we became closer to each other.” She expressed gratitude for the Jubilee teachings and requested more such programs to help the youth grow in their faith.

Echoing the theme of peace that underpinned the rosary recitation, she also made a heartfelt appeal. “Dear young friends and parents, I would like to tell you that war is happening everywhere, and many people are suffering. Therefore, we should recite the Rosary and pray for peace in the country.”

Another participant, Mr. Paul Dashi Zau Hkun Du, shared his newfound understanding. “I heard about Jubilee, but I didn’t know about it. Dear friends, I would like to remind you that such trainings and sermons are held without hesitation. All the training and sermons are very useful for us.”

He reinforced the power of prayer, adding, “Therefore, we should always pray for peace in our country. God always hears our children’s prayers.”

Chairman Ms. Rosa Magawng Chyem Hkawn confirmed that this prayer meeting was part of a larger diocesan effort, with all 33 parishes of the Myitkyina Diocese participating in the global One Million Children Prayer Service, uniting young voices in a common plea for peace.
