Yes or No to God’s invitation

Ezek 36:23-28; Psalm: 50; Mt 22:1-14

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells a parable about a king who invites guests to his son’s wedding feast, but many refuse to come. The king then invites anyone and everyone to come to the feast, but one guest shows up without proper attire and is thrown out. This parable serves as a reminder of God’s constant invitation to us to come to Him and accept His grace and salvation.

When faced with God’s invitation, each of us must make a choice: to say yes or no. God’s invitation is extended to all, regardless of our past sins or shortcomings. It is a free gift of grace that is waiting for us to accept. However, many people choose to reject this invitation, either out of arrogance, pride, or a lack of faith. Just like in the parable, some may prioritize their worldly pursuits over God’s invitation, missing out on the abundant life that He offers.

Saying yes to God’s invitation means surrendering our lives to Him, trusting in His plan, and following His commandments. It means putting on the righteousness of Christ, symbolized by the proper wedding attire in the parable. By accepting God’s invitation, we are aligning ourselves with His will and experiencing the joy and fulfillment that come from living in a relationship with Him. Ultimately, our response to God’s invitation determines our eternal destiny. – let us choose to say yes and enter into His kingdom with gratitude and humility.
