Faith Formation Teachers Complete Training in Myitkyina

Sixty-eight faith formation teachers from across the Myitkyina Diocese have completed a five-day training program.
The closing ceremony of the 2nd Training of Trainers (T.O.T.) course was held on October 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM at St. Luke’s College in Myitkyina.

The training began on October 26 and aimed to help parishes carry out faith formation activities more systematically. Instructors from 16 parishes, also known as pastoral districts, took part in the course.

Bishop John Mung Ngawn La Sam of Myitkyina Diocese attended the closing ceremony and addressed the trainees. He told them they had become good followers of Christ in order to share God’s Good News with all believers.

However, the bishop stressed that prayer is essential for this work. “We all need the strength of prayer very much to successfully share God’s Good News of salvation,” he said. “Only through God’s grace can everything be accomplished.”

Bishop John also reminded the teachers that their faith must be shown through actions, not just words. He referred to the saying, “Action is louder than speech.” He encouraged them to share God’s message with love from the bottom of their hearts.
“May our holy Church be filled with God’s blessings, thrive, and succeed,” the bishop said. “May God’s grace of peace rest upon all of you.”

The training was designed to prepare instructors who will then teach others in their home parishes.
With 68 trainees from 16 areas, the course aims to strengthen faith formation across the diocese.

The closing ceremony marked the end of the five-day program and the beginning of the teachers’ work in their communities.
