The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by the newly ordained Myanmar Claretian priest, Fr. Dominic Aung San Htay, at 7:00 am on June 16, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Church, Thayetchaung parish, Pathein diocese.

In his homily, he said that he can give thanks to God not by his merit but by the glory of God and the mercy of God.

And also, it coincided with the 40^th anniversary of his parents’ marriage.

Fr. Edward, the second Myanmar Claretian priest, read the letter of appreciation.

The newly ordained priest shares his vocation story in an interview with RVA Pwo Karen.

Fr. Dominic mentioned that it is not easy to become a priest. He tried for seventeen years to be a priest.

He went to join the seminary, Mayanchaung, Pathein, first, but God called him to go to Manila to join the Claretian Congregation.

Bishop Robert Gaa ordained Fr. Dominic at 8:30 am on May 31^st, 2025, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary’s Parish in Quezon City, Manila.

Fr. Dominic Aung San Htay is the third Myanmar Claretian priest.

Fr. Francisco Saw Jimmy Htwe is the first Myanmar Claretian priest ordained by Bishop Leo M. Dalmao at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Quezon City, Philippines, on July 16, 2022.

Claretian Missionaries are known as the sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Cordis Mariae Filii, CMF).

St. Anthony Mary Claret founded the Claretian Congregation on July 16, 1849, in Spain.

There are 3000 members in the Claretian congregation, including Priests, Brothers, and students in formation.

The charism of Claretian is Ministries and Missionaries.

The ministries are preaching, parish work, education, formation, and social justice.

The missionaries are in Mission in remote areas, publishing, interreligious dialogue, and advocacy for peace and human rights.

At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, all the faithful celebrated a reception for the newly ordained priest, Fr. Dominic, at the parish hall and presented him with gifts as a token of love.
