
Memorial of Saint John Henry Newman, October 9, 2026

Saint John Henry Newman was born in England on 21 February 1801. He was first an Anglican priest and later became a Catholic priest in 1847. He devoted his life to prayer, education, preaching, and the search for truth. In 1879, Pope Leo XIII made him a cardinal. He died on 11 August 1890. Pope Francis canonized him on 13 October 2019.
we learn from his life to seek the truth, trust in God, follow our conscience, and remain faithful to Christ. Amen.
