Kalay Diocese Marks 20th Episcopal Ordination Anniversary of Bishop Felix

The Catholic faithful of Kalay Diocese gathered in thanksgiving on May 6 to celebrate the 20th Episcopal Ordination Anniversary of Bishop Felix Lian Khen Thang, honoring two decades of dedicated service.
The jubilee celebration was held at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Kalaymyo, bringing together priests, religious sisters, and lay faithful. Bishop Felix himself presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration, reflecting both humility and gratitude as he marked the milestone.

Homily: The Good Shepherd
The homily was delivered by the eldest priest of the diocese, Rev. Fr. Joseph Pau Kap Mung. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for sustaining and protecting Bishop Felix throughout his 20 years of episcopal ministry.
Drawing inspiration from the life of Saint Dominic Savio, whose feast day coincided with the celebration, Fr. Joseph highlighted how the young saint was formed under Saint John Bosco’s guidance. He used this example to underscore the essential role of a bishop as a “good shepherd”—one who understands and responds to the needs of his flock with care, wisdom, and compassion.
The liturgy was marked by reverence and joy, as the faithful prayed in thanksgiving for Bishop Felix’s leadership, pastoral dedication, and unwavering commitment to the Church in Myanmar. The anniversary served not only as a personal milestone but also as a moment of renewal for the diocesan community.

Gratitude and Fellowship
At the conclusion of Mass, Fr. Raphael Suang Cin Khup delivered a message of gratitude on behalf of Bishop Felix. He thanked all the priests, sisters, and faithful for their presence and prayers. He then warmly invited everyone to a communal breakfast and a grand dinner hosted later in the day.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Felix joined the priests and religious sisters for a joyful group photograph, capturing the unity and shared happiness of the gathering. The celebration continued with a festive breakfast, where participants enjoyed fellowship and conversation.
The anniversary festivities were set to conclude with a grand dinner hosted by Bishop Felix, further expressing his appreciation and strengthening the bonds of communion within the diocesan family.

A Testament to Faithful Leadership
The 20th Episcopal Ordination Anniversary of Bishop Felix Lian Khen Thang stands as a testament to faithful leadership and enduring service. It highlights the vital role of episcopal ministry in guiding the Church and nurturing the spiritual life of the faithful.
As the Kalay Diocese reflects on these two decades of service, the celebration becomes not only a remembrance of the past but also a hopeful step forward into the future of the Church in Myanmar. The event was also attended by members of the Little Way Sisters of St. Theresa, whose presence added spiritual depth and communal joy to the occasion.
