The Glory Returns: The Queen Who Leads Us to the King

Ezek 43:1-7, Psalm: 84, Mt 23:1-12

Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary

My dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Today, heaven rejoices. Mary is crowned Queen.

Ezekiel saw the glory of the Lord return to the Temple, filling it with God’s presence. This is what happens when we welcome God into our hearts—His glory fills us.

But Jesus warns us: don’t be like the Pharisees who seek honor and burden others. True greatness is not in titles. It is in humility. “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

And no one lived this more perfectly than Mary. She didn’t seek a crown. She didn’t demand recognition. She said, “I am the handmaid of the Lord.” She humbled herself completely. And God exalted her above all creation.

Mary is Queen—not because she rules with power, but because she intercedes with love. She doesn’t dominate; she serves. She points always to her Son, the King of kings.

What does this mean for us? We are called to the same humility. Stop seeking the praise of others. Stop burdening people with expectations. Instead, become like Mary—small, surrendered, and full of grace.

This week, choose humility. Serve quietly. Love without recognition. Let God exalt you in His time. And ask our Queen to lead you closer to her Son.

Mary, Queen of heaven, pray for us. Amen.

May God bless you all.
