The Key of Faith: Unlocking the Mystery of God’s Plan

Isa 22:19-23, Psalm: 137, Rom 11:33-36, Mt 16:13-20

My dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Ever felt like God’s plan is a mystery you can’t quite grasp?

Today, we are invited into that mystery. Isaiah speaks of a key—the key of authority, of stewardship. Then Jesus asks His disciples the most important question: “Who do you say I am?” Peter answers: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus gives him the keys of the Kingdom.

Not because Peter was perfect. Because his faith was a gift from the Father.

St. Paul stands in awe: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom of God! How unsearchable His ways!” God’s plan is vast, beyond our understanding. Yet He shares it with us—through the Church, through the keys of mercy and forgiveness.

Today we remember St. Bartholomew, a hidden apostle. We know little about him, but his witness is powerful. He trusted the mystery. He gave his life.

What about us? We have been given a share in those keys. We are called to open doors—not close them. To offer mercy—not judgment. To confess with Peter: “You are the Lord.”

This week, trust the mystery. Don’t demand to understand everything. Just open your hands, your heart, your doors. Let God work through you. For His plan is good, even when hidden. Amen.

May God bless you all.
